We live in a country where we are witnessing a growing number of charity foundations that are so passionate to give back to their communities and help tackle their physical needs and wants but perhaps little is being done to tackle the root cause of what we would outlines as “mental slavery”. The October charity foundation is in the business of providing awareness and mentorship to the youth of Walvis Bay to help fight against alcohol and drug abuse as well as share awareness and understanding around mental health at large. Our target market includes but is not limited to: High school drop outs, street kids, youths involved in gangs and those suffering with addiction. The foundation was established by Ms. Lydia Erastus in 2019 (before registration) when the founder celebrated her 20^th birthday at the Walvis Bay Kids Safe Haven to give back to whom she describes as “spirit-filled, loving young Namibian kids” who face the stigma of being victims of baby dumping and parents or families that were unable to care for them as they suffer from drug and alcohol addiction and some, even physical abuse.
