Olafika is a structured mentorship programme designed to equip entrepreneurs with the necessary knowledge and skills needed for business success.
In partnership with the Namibia Diamond Trading Company, Ministry of Rural & Urban Development and Ministry of Industrialization, Trade & SME Development, Twapewa Kadhikwa Institute of Entrepreneurship and SME Development, the Mentorship Programme teaches, trains and mentors Namibian entrepreneurs over a 6- month period. After a successful 2019 where 77 SMEs were mentored and received Level 4 entrepreneurship training, the programme had 2020 doubled the number of beneficiaries through virtual classes.
The Classes of 2021 & 2022 had face to face classes as a result focused to the urgent issues that businesses were facing, particularly as a result of Covid-19.
Olafika SME Development and Mentorship Programme 2022 classes commenced with Agripreneurs, Techpreneurs, Health & Fitness entrepreneurs, emerging & growth ready Jewellers, women in business and physically disabled entrepreneurs.
In 2023, Olafika recruited 80 participants from the following categories, Artisans, Women & Men in business, Startup youth, physically disabled entrepreneurs and Jewelers.
The highly anticipated intake for 2024 boasts of diversity, and the program has successfully trained and graduated over 380 entrepreneurs since 2019.
This year, Olafika will train & mentors 85 mentees, clustered in equal groups in 5 categories: Girls and young women entrepreneurs, Boys and young men entrepreneurs, Physically disabled entrepreneurs, Artisan entrepreneurs and Women and men entrepreneurs.
