The Local Economic Development Agency (LEDA), a division under the MURD supports local authorities and the regional councils in stimulating local economic development (LED) through capacity building, strategy development and implementation, funding and networking.

Their mandate not only includes coordinating development at local level, they also have a responsibility to capacitate both the Development practitioners and SMEs in various Local and Regional Authorities in terms of business development and support.

The LEDA plays an instrumental and important role of sourcing quality entrepreneurs in the respective regions to participate in the Olafika Programme
